Performance at Pela Terra following a research residency in colleboration Idanha-à-Vida Regenerative project 

In the Roman epitaphs of the village we read "sit tibi terra levis". However, the earth over a dead body should accumulate ad eternum and be rich and dense, instead of thin and light. How to transform a future of rubble into fertile land?

It was from the ruins of the old Idanhas that we thought about the past and present landscapes of imperial cultures and the dust that remains from them. We delved deep beneath and above the ruins of our foundations: an annual field, a pasture, a swamp, an acacia grove, an olive grove, a cork oak grove, a eucalyptus grove, a pine forest, an oak grove.

Thus, the performance traversed the landscape and ecological progress, with gestures, images, notes, prose:

year zero
fertility in decline



 the bones of the earth facing the sun
stone
bread
straw
war

(…)

a swamp wants to be a meadow
and a meadow a thicket
wants to be a grove
wants to be a forest

the ancestral families
guiding the path
deep and dense
of the art of eating ruins
