| Engaging directly with local ecosystems, we document, learn, and share ancestral arts and crafts. Gaining a deep understanding of the origins and utility of materials such as wicker, wool, wood, and stone (amongst many others we will focus on into the future) helps us cultivate a productive, sustainable, and resilient culture. We invite local artisans—keepers of an invaluable pool of knowledge—to teach us the fundamentals of their trades, so that we effectively become capable of identifying and working with these natural materials, which are so abundant in this bioregion. Through creative workshops at Landra, participants build upon these foundational skills as they are invited to engage in collaborative creation. Whenever the opportunity emerges, the resulting body of work is curated and showcased in relevant regional exhibitions . Activities are free, and registration is done via email. Knowing the Land is supported by the DGArtes "Art and Territorial Cohesion" program and the Cabeceiras de Basto Municipality, in partnership with Riodouro Council and Tramas @ Teque Artes.
