We took "A Cubic Meter of Carbon" to the markets of Braga, Matosinhos and Famalicão, where we made and sold a series of three shoping bags with messages about the carbon emmission and sequestration rates relative to different food production methods.

We focused on the strategies that the EU Common Agricultural Policy has for short chains, forests and biodiversity, and used the pure carbon cubic meter as a reference unit for comparison, and simple ways of speaking about these complex issues.

This literal cubic meter of perfectly carbonized wood apeared in each of those markets, leaveing behind a trail of curious hands full of black powder.
